“It’s one thing to see something you wrote on a newspaper. But to see it on a billboard, that’s a huge thing. Lots of people are going to see that.”
Seeing his name in various outlets is not new for R.J. Post, having been a journalist and writer for more than 30 years. But there was something different about publishing his first novels and having the opportunity to hold physical copies of them in his hands.
“This [book] is going to be on my shelf forever, and, hopefully, once I’m gone, one of the kids will have it on their shelf.”
Post is the author of the YA series, “The Greenwood Mysteries,” as well as two short stories collections, “Tasmanian Tigers, True Love, and Other Elusive Things” and “Lion Taming, Dating, and Other Dangerous Endeavors.” In this exclusive interview, we discuss his venture into the world of self-publishing his own novels and short stories, some of the challenges new authors face when it comes to getting their story out, and his love for “dysfunctional love songs.”
Be sure to give the full interview a listen above.
